The Lyndale Gardens Public Pavilion explored the interplay of light and space, using the shadows cast from sculptural light wells and slatted planes to delineate space, direct views, and create a sense of movement within the pavilion. As opposed to many temporary structures of it’s kind that hide the construction under exterior cladding, The North Loop Parklet explored what a parklet could become when the facade is stripped away and the skeletal structure provides the visible aesthetic. Contrary to traditional methods of data collection, we wanted to approach this project in a creative way that would be fun for event goers to engage with. In addition to providing vibrant greenery to the bus shelter, all the plants at The Living Bus Shelter were edible; transit riders and passersby were encouraged to explore them, taste them, and bring some home to enjoy with dinner.
